Verified project case study · Labor market intelligence

KAR

A full-stack labor market intelligence application that connects public economic data with model-assisted analysis.

Contribution

What ELI Labz contributed

ELI Labz maintains and extends this fork as a working exploration of labor-market data, AI-exposure scoring, forecasting, and conversational analysis.

Context

The operating problem

Labor-market data is fragmented across datasets and difficult to explore as a connected operational picture. KAR presents macro indicators, occupations, forecasts, and an Ask KAR interface in one application.

Technical approach

How the system was shaped

  • Built a React 19 and TanStack Start application with typed server functions and query-driven data loading.
  • Connected Bureau of Labor Statistics series with occupation-level views and model-assisted narrative analysis.
  • Structured AI exposure across six documented dimensions and exposed multiple forecast horizons.
  • Separated public dashboards, scoring, workforce analysis, and conversational exploration into focused routes.

Demonstrated outcomes

What can be inspected

  • The public repository documents a runnable full-stack implementation and production build path.
  • The application exposes macro readings, occupation exploration, scoring, forecasting, and an AI query surface.
  • A live project URL is published from the repository for direct inspection.

Claim boundaries

What this case study does not claim

  • • KAR is a fork and adaptation. The case study does not attribute inherited upstream work solely to ELI Labz.
  • • Coverage, refresh cadence, forecast quality, and scoring accuracy are project-documented capabilities, not independently audited performance claims.
